Life Throws a Surprise

Life always decides to throw in a surprise or two on the way to living.  In my case it wasn't me but my hale sister, Polly. It was Friday night, I was settling in for the night and everything was nice and quiet around the hale. I had the hale to myself, which is very rare, with four people and my hours such that someone is always home when I am.  They were all taking tickets when my other hale sister Raeola, called me and said that Polly was very sick and that she needed to go to emergency room. She had not been feeling well for the past week but not that sick.
I went and picked her up. We decided that she could make it to the emergency room at Castle in Kailua in case they had to do immediate surgery. I thought we would be there for hours just waiting to get her in. They admitted her right off and determined that it was her gall bladder. She was feeling better by then so the Dr. (Dr. Forny? who looked like a young surfer from the 60's) (Kristen, come on over), told her she could go home and make an appointment with a surgeon later in the week which she did.
She was scheduled for surgery the next Friday. She was stuck with me to take her in and you all know what an excellent nurse I am???? Ha! Ha! I just look around stricken with fear.
She was admitted about 2:00 on the 16th of June. The little demon (gall bladder) was removed. The Dr. said it was as big as an egg. I don't know if he meant humming bird, robin, chicken, goose or ostrich egg. She did very well and I took her home and we were home by about 10:00 pm.
If I had to go to the hospital that is a good one. Everyone there was so nice, polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Kristen e-mailed me and kept my spirits up while Polly was in surgery. Kevin even called and kept my mind off her surgery. The Lord knows that I don't do very well in hospitals. They are not my favorite places to be.
She is now happily recovering and will get to meet the "little demon" this week as the Dr. saved it for her.

Castle Medical Center. Below. I don't know what they mean by one way after this point? It made me a little nervous to let Polly go? Ha! Ha!
